So it looks like I may actually try this "blogging" thing that is going on around me. Not sure what I am going to say or do, but hopefully it will be entertaining and fun. Right now I have to figure out how all this stuff works!! So, let's start with something easy...how about I tell you about myself.
I am Allison Miles. I am married to a wonderful man named Brad Miles. We have 2 boys, Jake, 6 years old, and Lucas, 4 years old. (This is where you get the "4 Miles" from!) I work part time at the hospital as a RN in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. I also work occasionally at a Pediatric Clinic. I have been a nurse since 2006. I started out in the ER and then shortly moved to the NICU. I love working in the NICU but it does have it's moments when I think..."Really....why didn't I pick an easier career??" I love my babies...and especially that moment when they finally get to leave the place they have called home for so long..some not so long..and get to go home to be with their real parents. It's sad but rewarding.
Since there is so much I can say...I will start off easy and give 5 things you may not know about me....
1. I am a Christian...born and bread. I have attended church all my life but I have a relationship with Christ and am so thankful for that. It's not just about "playing church," it's about loving the Lord with all your heart!!
2. I am completely obsessed with clothes. I am somewhat of a clothes hoarder. Now I have not been officially diagnosed...but well, I am pretty sure I qualify.
3. I have the worse sweet tooth of anyone I know...I could sit and eat cookies, cake and whatever else with sugar in it for hours. I just loooooove sweets!! I also love Dr.Pepper..but I have recently given it up. I stopped drinking it, thinking I would only drink the big H2O but ended up needing a Diet. Coke to hold me over. I really needed to be tapered off of Dr.Pepper like an addict. I gave it up cold turkey and went straight through withdrawals. I know Diet.Coke is not any better...buy hey...in my messed up mind it is!
4. I can talk your ear off....I get this honest people...straight from my daddy. Example: When we were younger, my brother and I would get in trouble. My dad would find out and lecture us for what seemed like hours. After a while, we would beg our mom just to go ahead and beat us. It seemed less painful that way! So, needless to say, I know where I get this from. I love to talk to people. I love to just fellowship with others and I also like to make people laugh. I do this through "my stories" but unfortunately my stories run long....kinda like this post!
5. Okay so last but not least, I am excited about blogging but very nervous about if anyone will read it. I am really just winging it, so there's no telling what will be posted!! It will be probably be stuff about family, shopping, and whatever else I can think of. So welcome to the Blog....
